They merge their talents in a rare musical chemistry that truly transcends the same of its parts. Over the years, the lineup has included some of Oahu’s finest musicians, each bringing their own unique voice to a true synthesis of (North Atlantic) Island music with multiple other streams of exhilarating sounds.
In this special edition, founder James B. McCarthy and long time band member Lisa Gomes welcomes valued friends and musical associates Alastair McNeill , Spencer Lathrop and Mark Ransom. Loyal fans will hear new renditions of favorite tunes and there will be many surprises. Whether it be the stunning guitar work of McNeill (who tours as George Harrison in Rain the Beatles tribute band) or the solid grooves of Lathrop and Ransom (who are the steady backbone of Oahu bluegrass faves Saloon Pilots), the music will be grand and the ‘craic will be ninety’ (an Irish saying for : ‘a really great time).
From soulful ballads to scintillating fiddle tunes (original no less!) to comic sing alongs, this evening of music will be memorable and unique. Join us to welcome a New Era in the history of Doolin Rakes.

A self-taught guitarist and song writer, Anuhea began showcasing her talents while boarding at Hawaii's famous Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu. "We would print out guitar chords to Bob Marley and Jack Johnson songs at school then skip water polo practice to go back to the dorms and jam them. Once I got the basic idea of guitar I then started writing my own songs." Fluent in Hawaiian Anuhea is proud of her island roots and plans to honor her heritage by utilizing her growing fame for the good of her land and people.
The future is bright for this Maui songbird. Anuhea's determination, passion, optimism and raw talent are the foundations for the success that is to come. "I just feel lucky that I've found my dream and am able to pursue it. My main goal as a music-maker is to help people find theirs, whatever it may be."
