This 2021 special edition is in partnership with the Henry Kapono Foundation and dedicated to helping get Hawai`i’s musicians back to work and on stage to do what they love most...perform. March 11th features Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award-winning artist, Jerry Santos of Olomana with opening performance by Kamuela Kimokeo.

The launch of this new format will continue to feature multiple award-winning and GRAMMY® nominee, Henry Kapono, who will introduce a new opening segment that will spotlight many of Hawai`i’s diverse and talented musical entertainers, followed by some of Hawai`i’s most iconic musicians. Henry will “jam” and “talk story” one-on-one with each artist, “deconstructing” their career (as only one artist to another can do) to give the audience insight to the spirit and aspirations of the person/people behind the music.

Best known for his work in the musical group Olomana, Jerry Santos has maintained an influential presence on the Hawaii music scene for over four decades. Born and raised on the windward side of O‘ahu and a graduate of The Kamehameha Schools, Jerry established himself early on as one of Hawai‘i’s most prolific song writers. As a founding member and lead singer of the legendary group, Olomana, Jerry helped to create a unique and easily recognizable musical style, blending Hawaiian music with contemporary rhythms. Jerry has performed all over the world and his work has been recognized by the Hawai‘i musical community with numerous Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards including the prestigious, Moe Keale “Aloha Is” award for his charitable work in the community. Additionally, the Council of Hawaiian Civic Clubs recognized him for his commitment to Hawaiian Culture through music. He is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts and has been inducted into the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame. Whether performing as a soloist, or with his group Olomana, Jerry is firmly rooted as one of Hawaii’s most beloved and iconic recording artists who generates music from the heart with Aloha!

Kamuela Kimokeo started playing music professionally with his Dad in Waikiki at the age of 14 and mentored by some of Hawaii's great musicians. He has toured both nationally and internationally to share Hawaiian music with the likes of; Grammy Nominee, Amy Hanaiali'i, Raiatea Helm, and of course Hawaiian music Hall of Famer, Jerry Santos. His music allowed him to play for the President of Tahiti and at Barack Obama's Inaugural Ball in Washington DC. As a recording artist he played an original composition on the Grammy Nominated and Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award winning guitar album, Slack Key Kings Vol. II. He is currently a member of the Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award winning group Hi‘ikua and has recorded with Napua Greig, Raiatea Helm, Natalie Ai Kamau‘u, and Pilioha. Additionally, Kamuela is the Director of the Music Program and Hawaii Music institute at Windward Community College teaching Slack Key, Ukulele, Music Theory and Music History.

Native Hawaiian and GRAMMY® nominated, Henry Kapono is a multiple award-winning vocalist, guitarist, songwriter and composer. Henry is one of Hawaii’s most popular recording artists and presides over Kapono Inc, one of Hawaii's top multi-function entertainment companies. He is equally known for his community support and philanthropic endeavors, recently launching the “The Henry Kapono Foundation” in 2018 whose mission is to "Support the community through music and the arts and by giving with Aloha."

In an effort to provide Hawai`i artists with support, the Henry Kapono Foundation provided over 360 music professionals with Foodland Gift Cards for their families. Now to continue to support Hawai`i’s music industry and offer entertainers what they have asked for the most; Kapono Inc., in partnership with the Henry Kapono Foundation, are helping to get artists back to work and back on stage! Henry Kapono’s Artist 2 Artist Concert Series is committed to doing just that. Showcasing these talented musicians will undoubtedly deliver an entertaining and fun filled night for the audience, while providing the entertainers meaningful income and the spotlight for them to shine.
